Trailblazing Women In Beauty: Jules Sebastian
We are celebrating International Women’s Day by highlighting successful women who inspire us daily. We sat down and talked to three successful women who are pioneers in their own fields and they shared with us the best career advice they’ve ever received and the lesson they want all young women to know.
Jules Sebastian is a successful host, TV presenter, and stylist. She’s currently using her platform to champion the stories of inspiring individuals and their challenges and triumphs through her latest project, Tea with Jules.
We sat down with Jules where she shares with us the best career advice she’s ever received and the lesson she wants all young women to know.
Who are the women in your life that have inspired you and why?
I am inspired by women who get up, show up and give it all. The women I surround myself with are dedicated mothers, wives and career women who care about making a difference in the lives of others and the planet. It would be so hard to single out any few girls who inspire me, I take something from all of my friends, and women I admire and try to apply their goodness in my own life!
Best career advice you’ve received.
Probably the best advice I ever got was from my Mum. She said ‘Even if you don’t know what to do, just do something’. I have lived my career with this advice. I’ve never had a straight career path, but I have never stopped trying and doing something!
What are the words you live by?
Have courage and be kind. Always.
What’s a lesson you want all young women to know?
Be unashamedly YOU! Keep your head down, work hard, focus on what you are good at and what brings you joy. Stay in your lane and don’t compare yourself to what anybody else is doing. You are unique and wonderful no matter what you look like or your personality. And also – you don’t have to post it to prove it – good, honest work will always speak for itself.
