How to: Winter faux glow

The perfect sun kissed look …no sun required! Nothing beats a little colour to help welcome the first few weeks of spring. With the launch of our three newest tanning innovations, keeping your tan up throughout the year is easy (and fast!).

ModelCo Tip: Remember paler, winter skin is less forgiving on self-tan mishaps than in summer! So take note of our tips to ensure a flawless, natural looking faux glow this winter.

1. Exfoliate

A head to toe exfoliation is the first step in ensuring the perfect faux-glow application and so the self-tan formula can penetrate the skin evenly. Skin is especially prone to irritation and dryness during winter so unless you want a patchy self-tan, this is one step you don’t want to skip! Remember to do all hair removal 24hrs before to ensure your skin isn’t sensitive.

2. Application

The best time to apply tan is within the first 30 minutes of showering. Slip your hand into a BLEND BUFFING MITT  before taking to dry skin with your tan. Do not fool yourself into thinking you can go without – application with a mitt is the only way to ensure a seamless application (and of course, avoid tell tale orange stained palms!) Start at the legs and work your way up!

In winter, we recommend using a mousse (foam) formula because it spreads on thin, evenly, and absorbs into the skin super quickly. There is no standing around in the cold waiting for self-tan to dry and best of all, no need to worry about the colour transferring onto your sheets or clothes.

USE: For a fast-acting, dark tan, choose ONE HOUR TAN. This revolutionary express self-tan formula allows you to control the colour of your tan by choosing when you shower. For those who prefer a lighter, sunkissed glow, try our newly formulated TAN MOUSSE in Light-Medium.

3. Extend

To prolong the life of your #ModelCoTan and allow it to fade evenly, it’s best to pat your skin dry after showering and follow with a daily dose of moisturiser or gradual tan to keep skin hydrated.

USE: Top up your tan with our lightweight GRADUAL TAN mousse or amp up the colour 2-3 days after application with INSTANT TAN or TAN AIRBRUSH IN A CAN. If you wish to build up to a more solid colour, follow 3-4 days later with another application of TAN MOUSSE.
